I have a "Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000", and I have ran into many iddues. It began with my wireless Logitech keyboard not responding one day when I booted the computer. I switch around the USB ports it has yet to be plugged into, and it works. However, this is all temporary. What could be the issue?

because you plugged it into a different usb port, you will have to reinstall the drivers.
