I installed a second SATA drive on my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R board and am curious if anyone knows if it matters, performance wise, whether the second drive is on a different channel.

I have tried switching it around, but to be honest I don't see any real difference, although it may make some background difference?

Additionally the motherboard has 6 SATA110 connectors contolled by the ICH9R, and two GSATA110 connectors controlled by Gigabyte SATA2. What are these GSATA connectors for? Can I hook up a normal SATA drive to them, and would it make a difference if one drive is in the SATA connector and the other in the GSATA?

tks
