Hi all, recently my PSU died on me, along with my motherboard, I've just done a repair installation of windows having replaced both and am starting to get my system back up. Major problem is that the latest windows updates won't install although I think I know the cause of that. Before I install the updates (Repairing rolled back to SP2 a while ago) I need to clean this garbage that seems to have sprung into my system. I've run Spybot, Avg, Counterspy and Ad-aware in safe mode, before that taking the steps of cleaning out temp directories etc as described in the sticky but something keeps placing these trojans back into the documents and settings/user/local directory. I'd be very grateful if anyone can offer up some advice.
I believe attrib.exe is causing a lot of the problem, although possibly something else as well.
Thanks,
Chris
