Ok, after a week of trying to install Linux I gave up. Now, after the millions of times I've partitioned the hard disk, the hard drive doesnt boot automaticly at startup because, technicly, there isnt really anything there. Anyway I got my hands on a friend's XP install disk and put it in just tosee what happens (btw BIOS setup is set to put disk as prioroty at startup) and it simply goes to the usual "no operating system found" error. Is there anyway I can either wipe the hard disk clean WITHOUT a recovery disk and/or get the XP disk to load?
