I rush in where angels fear to tread, and changed my msconfig in XP Pro 2 trying to reduce overhead. I may have disabled my firewall or something when unchecking start-up load files. Can someone tell me what file that might be so I can re-arm it? Thanks.

Can you list the entries in msconfig's startup on your machine, buddyb? that might make it easier.

Of course, you could simply check them one by one and restart each time. You'd find it by trial and error ;)
