It's started already. I suppose we all knew it would but were hoping they wouldn't, at the last minute.

I'm referring to the Chinese authorities and the journalists' ability to connect to the Internet at the Olympics. You remember the Internet, the thing that was going to set us all free and increase our ability to make our voices heard.

Well, not in China it doesn't. It does seem a shame that they have the chance to show the world that its preconceptions were wrong, that it could be a freer country than we'd suspected. And here they are stamping on criticisms before they've even started.
