PC switches off power to harddrive every 20 / 30 seconds. No warning, instant power-off. All data on PC lost. Have gone the "Control panel, Screensaver, Power Saving, Advanced" route - no success. Running XP-Pro, SP2 on pent. 4. Who has the answer????

Could it be a faulty molex plug (or whatever that is).
Either replace it with a spare, or swap it with the floppy drive or CD one.
If you don't know what I am talking about, take it to a repair shop
