Had a major disaster yesterday.. dropped my pc while moving and now will not start windows xp,, i have checked all the connections inside and they all seem to be fine. when i start up it goes to menu asking if i want to start in normal .. last known good cOnfig.. or safe mode.. all brings me back to this same page after xp tries to start.. can i save my data on my harddive?? can it be fixed.. I have lots of buisness data on it and dont want to start over!!! HELP fyi.. it did start up normally at first but wanted me to run a disk check of some sort.. not normal scan dsk.. something else and now here i sit

You might want to consider reseating all of the cards in your system, to ensure they're in right. If all else fails, it could very well be that the machinery inside your hard drive was jostled. If that's the case, you might need to contact a data recovery company, if your data is that important.

I guess this just underscores the importance of timely backups, eh?
