I recently screwed up my registry, and went to MSDN for help & i found out how to fix my problem, which was realy easy, but anyways, now when i startup a box pops up before the desktop or shell starts(the logonui part of the startup) which i dont really care, but now i cant use my mouse nor my keyboard & im using usb interface for them. I allso tried safe mode and debug mode and not crap works. I NEED HELP!!

you didn't say what operating system you are using. XP is on a bootable CD, so just insert that CD and reboot your computer. Then reinstall the os on top of the current os.

Next time, back up the registry before you start screwing around with it.

Im using winXP, but im not wanting to dump my system, just restore it. I also cant use the cd because i dont even have one!! I have home edition but this isnt the one im wanting to use. im wanting to keep Media Center Edition.

since you can't even use the keyboard I see no other option but to reinstall the os from CD unless you have a backup of the registry on another disk.

didnt you say you were using USB for BOTH mouse and keyboard? WEll i suggest plugging a normal mouse and kb into the PS/2 ports and see if that works

I Know I could almost bet PS/2 is tha way to go for my problem, BUTTT.. As soon as i thought about it, I ran over and grabed a spare ps/2 mouse i had and i was about to plug it in but, i just realized my dumb computer doesnt even have any ps/2 ports. I spose its because they are trying to standardize USB for alot of things, Such as mouses and keyboards.
