I just installed IE7, and the tabs toolbar doesn't show up..only the adress bar is there...the tabs options don't show up..and the toolbar, including options for home, etc.

Also, plently of times, there are pages which have "done, but with errors", and some links do not work!

Please help!

For : common causes are hidden toolbars, a faulting add-on/toolbar, or script errors breaking page rendering. Building on and , below is a compact, practical sequence to diagnose and fix the missing tab/command area and the "done, but with errors" messages.

  • Reveal the menus first: press the Alt key to show the classic menu. From View -> Toolbars (or by right‑clicking an empty area along the top) enable the Menu Bar and the Command Bar so Home/Favorites icons return.
  • Check tabbing: Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Tabs -> Settings and make sure tabbed browsing is enabled. If that option is greyed out, skip to the add-on test below.
  • Test without add-ons: start Internet Explorer with no add-ons (iexplore -extoff). If the UI and pages behave normally, a third‑party toolbar or extension is the culprit. Use Tools -> Manage Add-ons to disable suspect items and uninstall toolbars from Control Panel -> Programs.
  • Script errors: Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> in the Browsing section, enable "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)" and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error" to stop the popups. Also check Security -> Custom level -> Scripting -> Active scripting is set appropriately for the site.

If problems persist, try creating a new Windows user profile to rule out a profile corruption, run sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt to repair system files, and back up Favorites before major changes. As a final step, consider removing the IE7 update and reinstalling or using System Restore; since IE7 is now obsolete, switching to a currently supported browser is also recommended.
