I am running Win2000 Professional Edition. Can someone help me with getting a sounded email alert which only works sporadically? I seem to have a problem only when running Java 2 Runtime Environment. I use both programs for stock trading. Once I start JavaRuntime, I get a sound alert for the first email and then nothing for subsequent ones. I have to go back into tools-options- remove the check next to "Play sound when new email msg arrives", then recheck it hit Apply and OK. This works for the next email alert and then I am back to square 1. I have deleted most of my emails and in Maintenance have cleaned up files using Compact. I have tons of free disc space. I cannot figure this out and have searched the web for answers and have found nothing. I really need the email sound alert and this is driving me crazy.
