G'day everyone

I've been having a problem with my Windows folder showing as 10gig bigger than it actually is. It's reading as 14.6 gig at the moment. The files and folders in it (hidden and unhidden) amount to about 4.2gig. I can't find a specific folder which is misreading.

Anyone encountered this, and know what causes it? I've run various procedures (see thread at http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-3160780-1.php). Still nothing.

I'd be grateful for any help.

Paul

try this ,where you set it to show hidden file ,goe down 2 and uncheck, show protected system files[recommended ] ,

This could be disk format damage.

I suspect Offline file cache is your problem. Download WinDirStat at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=91252

It will tell you excatly which folders are taking up all your disk space.

I suspect it will be a folder called "CSC". If it is do not attempt to delete the files or folders in the "CSC" folder. "CSC" stands for Client Side Cache. I repeat do not try to delete or clean the "CSC" folder with WinDirStat.

If it is the "CSC" folder you will need to follow the directions from here. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230738

Hope this helps.

Thanks gents, the problem I now kno is the Installer - it's reading 13.3 gig. Any ideas why this might be?
