Hi all
My computer starts up really slow. It is running fine untill it hits the blue welcome screen (windows xp). After that it takes forever to load up the desktop. The background picture however is loaded up immediately. Once the desktop is activated the computer runs as fast as can be. I'm experiencing no problems with any applications. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

start -> run
type msconfig
click startup tab
See what's loading that you don't need. untick anything you don't need and press ok.
Clean up folders and files on your desktop.
Can't think of anything else offhand.
