i used to be asked if i wanted to save or open mpeg files, but now it just opens them, how to I change the settings back?

Open Windows Explorer and from the menu select Tools/Folder Options/File Types then scroll down until you find mpeg in the extensions column and select it. Then select the advanced button and put a check in the box next to "Confirm Open after Download" then Apply.
