what are the basic objectives which are must be clear in my mind?

Do you have an account to make payment?
Is the domain site trustworthy? Look at its certificates and reviews.
Are you running PHP or ASP?
Do you need web servers that execute open source codings like PHP, JSP, etc... or are you using an usual ASP?

I agree with Kraai simply figure out what requirement's you need and that will help you decide if you need shared hosting or a vps or even a dedicated. It simply depend's best of luck to you. Make sure you read review's about the host first before signing up.
