Can I use a cable with an ethernet connection on my Wxp and a usb connection on my W98se computer to link then together, and is such a cable available? :confused:

This would be impossible. USB and Etherenet use two completely different protocols. You would need something called a bridge. I don't think anything like this exists. You're best bet would be to get a network card for your 98 machine, and connect them via a crossover cable.
