im trying to upgrade the ram in my old pc and if I take the original ram stick out and replace it with a better one, it wont boot up I power it up and the pc just loades up with a black screen and doesn't go beyond there? why cant the pc boot without the original ram? and how can I fix it?

You need to be sure the new RAM is compatible with your system.
