iam running a p4 1400 256.with all windows updates.after installing lock my folder 1.50.i locked my e.drive.and forgot about it beeing locked,and i restored a backup image .and after the restore my e.drive is not accessible even though i just restored a backup image that was on e.drive.eny help would be appreciated..

i just installed a 120 gig hardrive and i never have formated a hd before and need help iam using xp pro my main harddrive is a 40 gig and the 120 as my storage hd.every thing is already setup.i just need help to format the 120 hd.iam using partition magic and i just want to split the 120 in half and have 60 gigs and 60 gigs.eny help would be greatly appreciated........

i dont know how it got on my pc?but i cant uninstall the file perfect keylogger all i can find is the dll.bpkhk.dll in windows but i cant uninstall it.i took every thing out of the registry but the bpkhk.dll keeps showing up in windows32.eny help to uninstall would be greatlly appreciated :sad: :sad:

hi.crunchie.thanks for the reply.i have changed my homepage and i took every thing to do with my way out of the registry every time i try to update a app with internet explorer it opens but just sits there i did a highjack this and am waiting to here back from a spyware forum i go to.i looked at the scan and every thing looks good.but i dont know for shure..................

i was told that myway.com is a web browser highjacker.but when iam on the web site my spyware app doesnt pick up eny spyware and after iam off of the site and i scan for spyware there is nothing.the web site has no ad's no banners no popups :rolleyes:

i have been using p2p sites for about 8 yrs and all you realy need is a good antivirus progarm and a good firewall and a little common sense and you will have no problems.and another realy good site is shareaza.if i cant find it on kazaa i can always find it on shareaza.cheers and good luck............. :lol: :lol:

hi.joe.a good free antivirus would be avg.but if you want to tryout the best antivirus going bar none its nod32 you can download a trial fromhttp://www.nod32.com/download/trial.htm. :cool:

hi steosaur.what you are talking about is hiding a inactive icon what i was asking about was removing the icon from the taskbar.and to do it.i right clicked the icon properties uncheck put icon on taskbar.but thanks for the reply........i just got lucky by playing around with it........

after installin msn messenger i now have the system volume icon on my taskbar eny help with removing it would be appreciated.......

hi drummerboy.thanks for the link to knoppix.com.i will be checking that out for shoure thanks.and i got my cd to boot it was so easy all i did was add the microsoft boot image to the cd with nero burning rom.it took me 10 minutes to do it and it boots with no problems.thanks for all your help.and iam going to readup on knoppix.the only os i know about is windows so it will be a good learning experience for me thanks again............

no the cd is alegal copy it just has a corupted boot file or something.every time you reinstall the computer is given a new name.i just forgot to do a custom install instead of a upgrade.when i did the upgrade the computer name stayed the same.if i did a custom install it would of given a new name.and i could of deleted the old name and all the old files.........

yes but the xp pro cd isnt bootable.and rite now the main os is xp pro.i should be able to delete xp home.........

hi.oalee.the problem with the cd is that its not booting so i had to install over xp home.i need to find out how to replace the boot file on my cd.so i can make it bootable again and then reinstall xp pro....

hi.you are rite it does takup about 1.6 gigs.so i canned my harddrive with duplicate file finder and every thing is a double.i dont want to just start deleteing every thing...........

i just did a fresh install of xp pro and i have less free space thann befor the install.its a fresh install where i deleted the old partition.before the fresh install i had 27.8 of free space now i have 26.2 help!!!

hi theorge i dont think its enything about hotmail changing.i think its my outlook express even when i had highspeed i couldnt send email with outlook.and it was set to my default amail account.and i couldnt download files from hotmail either.where do i find my display name..........

thanks caperjack.i tryed the changer programs and they didnt do what i whanted them to do.i think i didnt explain the riteway.what i want to do is the web pages that i have bookmarked i want to change the icon from the default i e icon to the icon of the site it bookmarks so if i was to change the acronis icon from the default i e icon to the site colors i have already changed the programs like acronis and others but how can i do the same with web pages....................

i cant believe it after trying every codec i could think of and having no luck i tryed the klite codecs pack 224f and i can watch every and eny type movie file on win media player 9.like apostolis7.ans steosaur said all alon it was a codec thing.its fixed now ya baby.........................thanks guys for all the help........

hi drummerboy.yes iam on dialup.and 10 to 15 seconds is when iam downloading or doing other tasks but when nothing is downloading it pops up in about 2 to 5 seconds.........

hey drummerboy.i think the name thing had something to do with someone else had the name firebird so they changed theres to firefox wich is the better name enyway.after tweaking xp i can now use internet explorer 6 not that i do much but i can if i want to. it wouldnt open for about a minute or two and sometimes longer before the tweak.now it opens in about 10 to 15 seconds.cool.i dont know which is faster firefox or i.e.6.its all good.thanks to crunchies tweak.ya baby

hey drummerboy.there's only one of the tweaks i have done and its the one that speeds up xp.its the crunchie thread on this forum. and it realy works.but iam trying not to do eny more tweaking before you know it. every thing goes south on you. and your looking for fixes..

is there a program that lets you monitor your cpu usage and memory and motherboard and eny other important processes on your computer.rite now iam using the task manager for the cpu usage but it doesnt have the others i mentioned........

zoogies.most of those products that say 200% or more are usually a scam but i know of one that is for real and its called activespeed.and it works so you dont have to buy more memory when thats not what you need.and as for defraging i do that once every week usually on a sunday.....

hi caperjack its funny but not ontill i did the reg tweak to speedup internet conection have i been able to use ie 6.but now i can. even when i was on cable it was slow. but now i can surf with it..i still use mozilla firefox as my home page though.....

i dont know about 200%.but i do know that there are internet accelerators that boost speed by 200 and 300% so they say enyway.the tweek sped it up for me. not 200%.but faster..........

hi crunchie.i have never used opera so i wouldnt know all i can say is its twice as fast as internet explorer.for me enyway.i love it and wouldnt change to opera or enything else...........
