I am planning to create a software, for my university project, which will detect whether the patient has Cataract- a form of eye disease, when we supply a photo of the eye/ or eyes.
How should i go around doing it?

You probably need some sort of vision software. Just a lucky guess though :icon_wink:

First you will need a medical degree so that you know how to recognize a cataract when you see one. My eye specialist had to shine a bright light in my eyes in order to find them. Maybe you can do the same with a color picture -- maybe not. I don't know.

You just need a bunch of pictures of eyes with cataracts and without. Then write a classifier to classify the images.

We are gonna use MATLAB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MATLAB). Any idea how we can do that?
