It would be great if someone tell me how mobile application can generate sales. I am wondering, Should I go for website marketing or app store optimization. Which is the best way to boost the direct sales

I think it depends on the product that you are marketing. If you don't have a strong customer/ user base then you should go with website .
Mobile apps are more convenient for purchasing online these days . You can re-direct the user from website to app.
