hibernate Option[]

I am trying to populate a dropdown1 list with instructor names determined by the instructor id.
is this code suffient? I have the binding write as far as I can tell but no string name population of the dropdown list.

        List<Teacher> teacherList=null;
        try{
            Session session = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession();
            Transaction tx=session.beginTransaction();
            Query q=session.createQuery("from Teacher");
            teacherList=(List<Teacher>) q.list();
        }catch(Exception e){
            e.printStackTrace();
        }
        instructorOtions=new Option[teacherList.size()];
        int i=0;
        for(Teacher teacher:teacherList){
            Option opt=new Option(teacher.getInstrNum(),teacher.getInstructor());
            instructorOtions[i++]=opt;
        }
