I would like to work with the MFC classes. As far as I Know these are not included with the Visual C++ express edition but only with the standard edition . can i get these classes for free elsewhere or do I have anyother option? please help.

The only legal way to get them is by spending your $$$ for the Pro edition. The standard edition might support them too, I don't know about that.

The Standard Edition also contains the MFC. If you are a student, you should take a look at https://downloads.channel8.msdn.com/
