Hello,
This summer I am looking into doing some research to enhance my undergraduate resume for graduate schools. The research that I am looking into requires that I have the ability to access and manipulate sound files (specifically music) so that I can perform statistical, machine learning and categorization algorithms on them. I have quite a bit of background in c++ but have no background at all when it comes to something like this (sound related). I have been looking for possible options, such as c++ libraries, but have, as of yet, be unable to come up with something that seems satisfactory. So what I am hoping is that someone who knows something about this can advise me and point me to a library that can fulfill the functionality I need. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
spryor
