I would like to create a c++ program that captures images from a ccd every few seconds and saves them to a folder. This will later be used as part of an image tracking package for an autoguided telescope. I have no clue where to start. If anyone has experience with this type of thing I would greatly appreciate suggestions for the purchase of a low resolution barebones camera, links to similar software projects, links to appropriate books, etc. I have both Linux and Windows 7 machines. If this is vastly easier in another language then I may choose to learn said language as an alternative.
