can you please help me, how can i read a wav file byte by byte and then play this file without using PlaySound Function. any help ?

You could try sdl_mixer? http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/

If you use Qt, you could use Phonon.

SDL_mixer is definitely a good option too.

You could also use OpenAL.
