i want to apply Dropdownlist in Grid having static items like i am having

1.Present and
2.Absent
but my problen is
on update click...everytime first value comes like Presents value.....i give this two value statically
all other items in d grid are from Database but two values i want statically
so i m facing this problem that everytime i run my application it give only First value means 'Present"

So please terll me how to solve this problem as soon as possible.......

Could you please set the breakpoint to trace your code. because i think in post boack your dropdownlist rebind again thats why its losses its selection.
