Hi, I am using XAMPP for developing my Inventory management system. I have stored the XAMPP in Drive C in Windows. But there is a risk if windows corrupt I will lose all my data , So I want to save the XAMPP in Drive D and acces all the pages stored in httdocs from Drive D . Please Guide me.

Please anyone help me.

Don't worry! it's very easy way first of all backup all of your htdocs folder from xampp this is the folder where your files.
xampp\htdocs\-copy allfiles of htdocs .
and also now backup your database from mysql folder.
xampp\mysql\data-There is your database

If you have changed as your required in apache configuration then goto
xampp\apache\conf and copy the file httpd.conf

Now uninstall your xampp from C drive
And
Install it in your D drive

Copy above files in the particular directories.
You have dons.

I am still confused.
what I will do with httpd.conf

Nothing to do if you have changed some setting in your apache server then you will need to copy httpd.conf other. If you haven't change anythings in your httpd.conf file then no need to copy it.
You just done!!!.

Where I paste httpd.conf. I have not change anything. I just want to copy XAMPP in Drive D then delete from Drive C and when I open my internet explorer and write http://localhost I want the index.php page will open from the Drive D:\Xampp.

Please guide me. Thanks.

Open httpd.conf file located under conf folder in
apache folder. (apache/conf/httpd.conf)

Edit (httpd.conf)it in Text editor and change the path of root directory.

#
# The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'
# server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a
# <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
# any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.
#
# All of these directives may appear inside <VirtualHost> containers,
# in which case these default settings will be overridden for the
# virtual host being defined.

# ServerAdmin: Your address, where problems with the server should be
# e-mailed. This address appears on some server-generated pages, such
# as error documents. e.g. admin@your-domain.com

#
# ServerName gives the name and port that the server uses to identify itself.

# Apache parses all CGI scripts for the shebang line by default.
# This comment line, the first line of the script, consists of the symbols
# pound (#) and exclamation (!) followed by the path of the program that
# can execute this specific script. For a perl script, with perl.exe in
# the C:\Program Files\Perl directory, the shebang line should be:

   #!c:/program files/perl/perl

# Note you _must_not_ indent the actual shebang line, and it must be the
# first line of the file. Of course, CGI processing must be enabled by
# the appropriate ScriptAlias or Options ExecCGI directives for the files
# or directory in question.
#
# However, Apache on Windows allows either the Unix behavior above, or can
# use the Registry to match files by extention. The command to execute
# a file of this type is retrieved from the registry by the same method as
# the Windows Explorer would use to handle double-clicking on a file.
# These script actions can be configured from the Windows Explorer View menu,
# 'Folder Options', and reviewing the 'File Types' tab. Clicking the Edit
# button allows you to modify the Actions, of which Apache 1.3 attempts to
# perform the 'Open' Action, and failing that it will try the shebang line.
# This behavior is subject to change in Apache release 2.0.
#
# Each mechanism has it's own specific security weaknesses, from the means
# to run a program you didn't intend the website owner to invoke, and the
# best method is a matter of great debate.

#
#ScriptInterpreterSource registry
#
# The directive above can be placed in individual <Directory> blocks or the

# 'Main' server configuration
#

#
# ServerAdmin: Your address, where problems with the server should be
# e-mailed. This address appears on some server-generated pages, such
# as error documents. e.g. admin@your-domain.com
#
ServerAdmin admin@localhost

#
# ServerName gives the name and port that the server uses to identify itself.
# This can often be determined automatically, but we recommend you specify
# it explicitly to prevent problems during startup.
#
# If your host doesn't have a registered DNS name, enter its IP address here.

   #!c:/program files/perl/perl

#
# To enable the this Windows specific behavior (and therefore -disable- the
# equivilant Unix behavior), uncomment the following directive:
#
#ScriptInterpreterSource registry
#
# The directive above can be placed in individual <Directory> blocks or the
# .htaccess file, with either the 'registry' (Windows behavior) or 'script'
# (Unix behavior) option, and will override this server default option.
#

#
# DefaultType: the default MIME type the server will use for a document
# if it cannot otherwise determine one, such as from filename extensions.
# If your server contains mostly text or HTML documents, "text/plain" is

I did not find any change in your and mine.

Do not move your XAMPP folder into another driver. Just leave it as it was. You have to change the location of web-site folder as I said in previous post.
For example, xampp is installed in c:\xampp and your websites are create at c:\xampp\htdocs. Now, a point is that you want to create/deploy your websites at another folder not in c:\xampp\htdocs. My suggestion address that problem.
It is absolutely proper. Save these changes and restart your web-server.

Thanks. Adatapost. i have cut the XAMPP from Drive C and Paste in Drive D. Its working. I did not change anything in httpd.conf
Is this right?

Please tell me what is the drawback of storing XAMPP in drive D:

No, nothing wrong to store/install a software. You may install anywhere.
