check username and emailid in database

I am writing a validation code in which i have validate two feilds and check if the feild username and email already exist in the database.

Where is the problem, where have you stuck? In what way are you trying to archive it (AJAX , post in other page , post in same page) ?

i am doing this with ajaxand php so far i am able to do it for username but not able to do for emailid
