Is using php with MS SQL server over MySQL a good practise? Ive been using MySQL for quite sometime and what I like about it is that it is free. Are there any advantages of using MS SQL server over MySQL? Or any challenges.

There are a lot of advantage when using MySQL, its free, SUN Microsystems supported, fast. In MS SQL when you set the size, for example 20 and you put a value more 20 character it will give you an error but when My SQL it will accept only character fit for the size.
