There are lot of wordpress tutorials for biginners on youtube, check this link:

And trust me it's one of the easiest open source CMS to create a website (usually a blog). Just download it from the official website http://wordpress.com/ , then intall it on your local host and check how easy it is.

Wordpress is dead easy, it can be a bit fidly sometimes, but most of the time its so intuitive to use.
Don't buy a book its all on youtube, it can be a pain to go through the volume of videos out there. I am lazy I have been using this site, its points to about 25 youtube videos to learn Wordpress. There must be other sites but I am too lazy to bother with that. Good luck, I still cant believe how easy Wordpress is; I am not compaining.
