Which is best? Any major differences?

>Which is best?
One is not "better" than the other.

>Any major differences?
One is stripped-down for slower PCs, the other is the real thing.

Yeah, Xubuntus interface is a lot more basic as its designed for older PCs. In terms of look , it looks a lot like Mac OSX. Its personal choice and if you dont like it all you need to do is type

on xubuntu, to make it the normal ubuntu:

apt-get update
apt-get ubuntu-desktop

OR

on ubuntu, to make it xubuntu:

apt-get update
apt-get xubuntu-desktop

xubuntu has only the basics, to make it run on the older pc's, but for newer pc's i'd recommend using just ubuntu.

Ubuntu it is! Thanks for all the help. :)

It's same distro, just different installation media. Xubuntu desktop is based on XFCE, Ubuntu on Gnome. Google for XFCE and gnome and find out what is better for you.
