Hi guys. Jerry Davis here. I am a married father of two baby boys, and I have some major motivation to become a master SQL guru. Wife stays home and takes care of our kids, so my income is it.

I have a decent technology back ground, but have been out of IT for about five years now. Last gig was brokering IBM AS/400's and some SUN boxes, but I have a natural affinity for software.

I want to study SQL and get a job in Houston as a SQL administrator, with a longer-term goal of becoming a data-mining expert. I'm looking at SAS and SPSS, but those are in the future. I think SQL mastery will give me a good foundation to build on, and I will greatly appreciate any help, pointers, advice and encouragement anyone can give me. I'm a man on a mission.
