In your emails, develop a little mini signature. I have something like the following on the bottom of my emails: E.g

Thanks
Your Name
Your Website

That will get you an infraction at DaniWeb. Put your links in your signature via CONTROL PANEL link located at the top of each page.

Write articles in your field of expertise, and include a link to your website. Publish the articles to sites like www.ezinearticles. com and www.goarticles.com. You can also use them to start a blog with advice for potential clients and customers.

As you said, Article marketing is one of the best way of marketing online.
