I do not understand why Google cannot find the website I have created. I have created a website for a local restaurant which has 3 domain names:
http://nygrillandbistro.com/
http://nygrillandbistro.ca/
http://nygrill.ca/

In the header, I have used to what I believe to be the appropriate meta tags. When I Google 'NY Grill', my website does not appear. Granted, I understand that Google may believe that 'NY' and 'Grill' are separate terms therefore go searching for restaurants in New York as oppose to where the restaurant resides which is in Canada.

I do not understand why Google cannot find my website? I have created another website in the past (http://rysa.bc.ca/) and I did not even use any meta tags. When I Google up 'rysa', it appears 2nd on Google. What is happening?

When were the sites put online?
It takes a little bit (2wks or so) for google to build an index of the links and your website before people can search it.

Oh, I placed the site up a few days ago. I guess I will wait.

I am concerned how Google will find my website though. The restaurant is called 'NY Grill', but it is not located in New York (located in Langley, Canada). I am afraid Google will get this restaurant confused with other 'Grills' in New York. I have inserted the following meta tags, but I am not sure if this is enough:

<meta name="keywords" content="NY Grill & Bistro, NY Grill, New York Grill & Bistro, New York Grill, Langley, bistro">

Try adding an entry to google maps.
Also, meta's aren't the best way to optimize keywords. Carefully written text and links are.
Backlinks (links from other sites) help too.

Agreed, even try to build some backlinks by doing some directory submission, social bookmarking, blog commenting, signature in forums. But while doing this, use proper targeted keyword with appropriate url. this will even help you to rise higher in search engine.

Backlinks? Do you mean going onto other websites and advertising about my site through threads?

Hi,

There are lots of tactics to get backlinks like: directory submission, article and press release submission, blog commenting, forum posting, etc. Even, you can create pages on social networking sites like hubpages, squidoo, etc. to get quality backlinks.

Welcome to Daniweb and the wonderous world of SEO and the world of search engines. Some sites have been said to be "sandboxed" by Google for up to 6 months meaning they don't really show up that much in Google for up to 6 months. No need to worry BING is widely used. Search Engine Optimization will help your site be found quickly and it is rather simple once you've studied it for a while.
Heres an old thread I helped out on along with other DaniWeb posters that has tons of SEO tipshttp://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread163359.html I hope it helps.

it takes time to index your site, i think you should focus on getting more quality backlinks.

I will suggest u to resumit your site's sitemap with Google'as webmaster tool to google, then check to see the results!

Hope help and good luck!
