Do a little research online. There are companies that do offer free graphics, However, keep in mind that fee logos may not be that great. It all depends what you are looking for. So if you are expecting something out of this world, then be ready to dish out some cash!

Try to use vector based programs (such as Adobe Illustrator), rather than pixel based programs in which to create your logo.
