I am planning to create a new website.
I was thinking of using free templates.
Heard a lot of reviews that they are not safe.
Is is true?
Someone please advice me on this.

If you mean HTML templates, I don't see why not. Just scan them for any javascript includes, but otherwise, they should be fine.
If you're meaning a system, like Joomla or Drupal, they're pretty safe too. ;D
