a friend of mine told me that there are websites that are designed using css only, no html or div involved. does anyone here know about it. if so, could u direct me to a site that would be helpful in my learning? :)

I don't think that is possible. CSS defines how to display HTML elements, so at the very least the site needs to contain HTML. Your friend may be referring to sites that contain no flash or javascript.

CSS is a set of instructions on how the html should be styled.
so with no html, it would be just totally plain text, and thus not stylable.
Your friend is just wrong.
