if a mobo uses nvidia chipsets should i also use an nvidia VC? i have no doubt an ati VC will work but will nvidia work better on said mobo? mobo in question, Mach Speed Venom MSA2-6100V

What VC you use is a matter of individual choice.
If you use a VC with a different chipset then it rules, the onboard has no effect.
Basic rule is, if YOU like the way it delivers your video, then that's what's best for you. They're all good, however, what's THE best usually depends on how deep your wallet is, not the mfg.

yeah you can use either but might not get extra features.
E.g to link two Nvidia cards up using SLI you need an Nvidia SLI ready motherboard
