My HP Pavillion Zd8000 is locking up at the sign on screen, well not totally locking up, i can move mouse over name to log in but then nothing happens. It started when it crashed with Blue Fatal Exception Error Screen. I can boot up in Safe Mode, sometimes, and run Spyware checks and Virus checker, both of which found no problems. Have tried to Restore to a previous date but it won,t do it.
I really don't want to have to do a complete Restore as I have just got everything back on since doing this 2 months ago.

Well I fixed it all by my little self. phew.
for anyone else who has similar problem then insert your windows xp installation disc and click the REPAIR Option. Then type in chkdsk /R and Enter.
It took a while to run through but Wahey it fixed my problem
