I have a Dell M1730 laptop (expired warranty <sigh>)
A few weeks ago I rebooted the machine and the video wouldn't come on. No bios no nothing. The machine does seem to be booting, or at least there is some disk activity, and it does acquire a network address. It is not making any beeping noises on boot, but I get no video in any form. I have tried external monitors of several varieties. I have taken apart the computer and reseated everything. Memory and hard drive connections seem good. I am able to run the built-in Dell diagnostic, but have so far been unable to interpret the beep codes by sound alone.
I feel like if I could remote access the machine I could get a better idea of what is going on. Sadly I don't have any form of remote access enabled on the machine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can go with this?
