rubberman is correct. I don't think there would be any point in getting faster RAM as you PC won't make use of it, also if the faster RAM is more expensive why waste money?

If your thinking of getting a new machine what is the harm trying to restore the current one? Perhaps try restoring this machine as you would have to start from scratch with a new one anyhow.

Hi, Have you tried installing the driver in safe mode? Some startup programs don't run in safe mode. I would download the drivers disconnect from the internet/network and restart the computer and start in safe mode press F8 before windows loads. Then install the driver.

Hello, If your struggling to install XP as in it isn't trying to boot from CD you will have to select the CD/DVD drive as the boot device or set the CD/DVD drive before the HDD in the boot order within the BIOS.

Hello, You won't be able to use the RAM from the desktop in the Laptop or connect the two and use the RAM in the desktop for the laptop. I would have thought of the two the desktop would make a better server. Can't say much about Minecraft.
