Hello,

you may find this under PC settings > accounts.
tap your account then disconnect.

This should disconnect your Microsoft Account from the tablet, which should disconnect you from onedrive but everything else linked to this account to.

Well, I would still recommend the nVidia drivers. They generally are a generation ahead of the system vendor's version.

**nod** I agree nvidia is the way to go.

Hi,

Did you try right clicking on the installation file and run as administrator?

Hello,

You can use any brand graphics card, the only restriction is it must fit; pci-e and must have enough power. Can you post the specific card you are looking at?

Hardly anyone's on IRC at the moment. Never used it myself, had to learn commands, maybe a short guide would help.

I'm using ChatZilla addon for firefox.

To join irc.daniweb.com in the client tab type:/server irc.daniweb.com
A new tab opens (irc.daniweb.com), type: /join #daniweb
Another tab opens, to talk simply type in the box and press enter.

Hello,

Your going to use your old optical drive(s) too?
Will you be overclocking your system?
Will you be using RAID to speed up your system?
You seem to have enough power; have a look at Antec Power Supply Calculator.

Hello,

Perhaps you are missing the drivers for them or maybe the cables aren't connected.
First check the cables are connected and are in the correct port.
Next you have to try to find the correct drivers if the cables are correctly connected.
Do you know the model of you computer or motherboard number?

You may want to try speccy to get further system information.

Hello,

You should be able to install ubuntu over fedora. Insert the Ubuntu disk and delete the Fedora partitions then install Ubuntu how you installed Fedora. Ubuntu should rewrite the grub (boot selection screen) automatically.

Just in case anything goes wrong back up you data first. If you need help installing Ubuntu let us know.

Hello,

Alternatively if you open the disk manager (i type "disk man" in search when pressing start button) you can create a mirror and mirror a partition from the 1.5TB drive to the 500GB drive but it would have to fit on the other drive. Both disks would then become dynamic disks, this can be a problem when trying to alter partitions later on.

You should be able to then remove the mirror and keep it on the 500GB drive but that will remain a dynamic drive.

Hello,

If it were me I would concentrate more on the specs of the card I was getting. Then if the brand was unfamiliar I'd check comments/reviews.

To be honest though I would probably spend a bit extra for a reputable brand if it were of the same spec of a lesser brand. Check the warranty some manufacturers offer a warranty longer than 12 months.

Just reminding you, this problem still exists. Looks like the changes made to this site haven't changed being redirected to the login page when clicking 'post reply to this thread'.

You need to find out which mobo will fit in the box.
Can you remove the I/O plate at the back; new motherboard come with one of their own.
I think you will need new everything. You will also need to find out the power of the PSU as well as the stuff you'll be getting may require more power.

I would recommend either building from scratch, new box, new motherboard etc... (you could reuse the Drives though) or simply buy one ready made. I recently replaced my mother board, CPU, RAM as it was cheaper but I knew everything fit; be sure you know your stuff will work.

When I try to reply to a thread I get asked to login. I do this and then instead of the message box coming up, the login page keeps coming up. Why is this happening? Anyone else having this issue?

I am using Firefox 3.5.

You can pick up a decent graphics card for quite a reasonable price these days.

You say the subtitles are pixilated have you tried increasing the resolution for the game? What is game play like? jitterey?

A better graphics card could help, I don't have any experience using ATI products but if you got an Nvidia card go for a 8600 or better, that should do.

Things you have to look for is memory speed DDR, DDR2, DDR3 etc... (higher the better)
Also clock speed (higher the better)
You will have to make sure you have adequate power though.

- Could you post the spec of the card you have...

Does your mouse still work without the keyboard plugged in?
Have you tried plugging in the keyboard after windows has started?
Have you another USB keyboard to try?
Is the mouse USB aswell?

You may have to set something in BIOS, have you looked through that to see if there is anything relating the USB devices?

Do you have many programs running at startup? like DVD burning software, manufacture programs. You can stop some processes running at start-up that may increase the speed of your system.

Press windows key+R and type msconfig press enter and select the start-up tab and disable any unwanted programs (make sure you know you don't need then).

Xlphos 16 Veteran Poster

I already have Window 7 Pro and that automatically located all my drivers. My lappy is a HP one and they say they aren't releasing any drivers until window 7 is released.

I suspect that your laptop will get drivers after Windows 7 is released. I think Windows 7 will automatically get most if not all your drivers for you.

Hello,

If you boot using the CD when you start the installation a partitioning tool should come up during the process. I would create a partition of around 16GB for the installation of Ubuntu and the rest for Swap space.

Xlphos 16 Veteran Poster

Hello,

Perhaps try reordering your boot order via BIOS.

Put the hard drive with the OS at the top.

If you ever need to boot from another device put that at the top of the list. i suspect that your PC is trying to boot from devices that are higher up in the boot list.

- let me know if it solves your problem.

Xlphos 16 Veteran Poster

Okay Try this,

Click on Start -> Run or windows key+R, Then type msconfig and click on the BOOT.INI tab. Then try clicking on the check boot paths and the other install may show up.

Or you can do as this link says Here. you would add an entry looking like this multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect changing the disk too whatever the disk number is.

Overclocking can be very harmful to your system if done incorrectly.
Can you afford to replace the computer if it goes wrong? If not, don't try it.

I agree. People overclocking there systems usually want to get the most out it for gaming purposes; is this the case for you?

If it is it maybe worthwhile in investing in a better graphics card or maybe faster memory. Why not post your system specs and see if there is a safer way of improving performance.

if you decide to ignore us, increase the clock speed of the CPU gradually and not in large jumps.

BTW i assume you mean GB not MB when refering to your RAM.

Hello,

Have you tried each module individually?

Have you tried alternating the slots used?

You could try reducing the margin and set width to 100%.

If you are after a bit more space before Home and after Search try putting.

Yes I think that will work.

But if doesn't work you may have to reinstall the OS, if it comes to this then you can back up your data using a linux live cd.

Or If you have a large hard drive you could install XP on another partition and transfer the data over.

Xlphos 16 Veteran Poster

Hello,

I would say if you want no more than 4 partitions on a drive then format it as primary. Otherwise if you want more than that then format it as logical.

I would advise formating as primary as I think having to many partitions is messy.

Okay have you tried cleaning the printer cartridges?
The Printer software should have an option to clean the printer heads or something like that.

Xlphos 16 Veteran Poster

Hello

Have you recently installed any new print cartridges?
Have you not used the printer for quite some time?
Have you got the correct drivers installed?

Try printing a test page

Xlphos 16 Veteran Poster

Have you tried allowing automatic updates?

Have you checked out that error code link?

But something must be wrong with the time settings. Look at that security certificate; Will not be valid until 6/19/2008 - which is a past date.

Is there no option in 'change date/time' to sync with internet time?
