My machine boots very slowly at start up to only shows the boot options and then says that i should check my cable. The hard disk does not even spin.
Your help will bee gratefully appreciated.

The beeping may be a POST code, but i doubt it since you can see something on the screen.
Perphaps you should listen to what your "machine" is telling you and check the power cable to your HDD and the data cable at both ends, especially the power cable since the HDD will still spin up with the data cable unplugged.
