Toshiba stallite L300 start up issues

heello;

I am having issues with a model of the afore mentioned laptop, i try to start it up and it come to a menu allways giving options of safe mode (and three versions of sed mode) and normal mode,in normal mode it refuses to pass the "please wait screen" but when i start in safe mode i am able to use the computer as normal without the speakers, but as a student they are a requirement does anyone know how to either;
1) enable speakers and the webcam in safe mode,
2) Make it work in normal mode

OR if you have your recovery disk, Back up your stuff and run the recovery disk.
