I have gateway solo 2150. I bought a new battery for it
and installed it. It charged up and looked like it was going
to work fine. It went dead, so I charged it again and it
won't take a charge.. Thought it was the battery, sent it
back and got a new one, same thing ,won't charge..
I'am thinking that there is something wrong with the charge
system on the computer..Also, when I click on the power icon
(cord with a plug on it), gives options of maxbattery, portable/laptop, always on , etc. Tried all of them, makes no
difference.. kinda got two questions there, thanks for any
help...

I'am thinking that there is something wrong with the charge
system on the computer..
Do you slide out the CD drive (i.e. entire unit) at all? My solo 9100 had a flat flexible cable (FFC) that was rubbed by the CD drive as it slid in/out. This wore through a couple of the lines causing charge and power-up problems.
