Hi,

I am having trouble getting the motherboard out of my Compaq laptop (Presario 2500). The manual states that there are two screws in the motherboard by the CPU but there are no screws. I need to repair the power socket but need the motherboard out so I can get to it. Do you know how to remove the motherboard or know some one that has had the same problem?

Thank you

Diana

[Compaq is often quite sneaky with its screws - the place tiny black or grey rubber stoppers over them for 'aesthetic' reasons - but their only real function is to make it impossible to take the things apart. Check for these stoppers, and if you can feel one, they're easiest to remove by levering with a pair of needle-tip tweezers :)
