Is it odd that my motherboard doesn't POST sometimes?

I have an ECS RS482-M motherboard. I can't see the screen while it POSTs since theres some annoying graphic splash screen during it. But sometimes when I either turn on the computer, or sometimes when the computer reboots, it doesnt POST, it just hangs on the splash screen. The problem is usually fixed by turning the computer off and on again (sometimes it takes several times, which can't be too good for the computer can it?)

Any ideas?

This happens to me when certai USB devices (like the iPod in my case) are plugged in during POST. All I do is disconnect the iPod and reboot. The system gets back to normal then. Try disconnecting all USB devices (except keyboard/mouse ofcourse) and see if the problem recurs...
