Note: Be sure you remove or uninstall the old audio driver in Add/Remove before installing the new one.
also another interesting fact is that i installed ubuntu and the sound works fine .go figure that one
If the soundcard is on-board, then the sound drivers are within the motherboard drivers bundle on motherboard drivers CD. Same goes for linux drivers.
