My brother has a Dell C610 with issues.

Over the summer a thunderstorm knocked the electricity out. He had the computer plugged into a surge protector, however, when he rebooted the computer would not find the hard drive.

I bought him a new hard drive and installed it for him but no luck. Still same issue - no hard drive found.

We've tried reseating, formatting, etc. but cannot figure this one out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS or going into the BIOS and make sure the hdd setting is set to auto detect?
