sometimes when i start my computer, it just stays on the "windows" screen but does not boot up all the way to take me to the log in screen. It used to happen once a week but now it happens more often where it's sort of stuck and won't boot up. thanks

What brand is your hard drive;

go find some self tests and make a bootable cd to test your hard drive

seagate uses Seatools I believe. dunno if you have a seagate but that's just an example.

I would recommend the ultimate boot cd.
